Old Masters to Monet features fifty masterpieces from the collection of the Wadsworth Atheneum in Hartford, Connecticut. The outstanding artworks provide a history of French painting, ranging from the 17th through the 19th century and into the beginning of the 20th century and include religious and mythological subjects, portraits, landscapes, still lifes, and genre scenes. Theodore Gericault, Eugene Delacroix, Edgar Degas, Claude Monet, Camille Pissarro, Pierre-Auguste Renoir, Paul Cezanne, Vincent van Gogh, and Heri de Toulouse-Lautrec are among the masters represented.
